We’re passionate about helping our community. Whether that’s through financial assistance, support with caring responsibilities or help with mental wellbeing, we’re here to support all civil servants, past and present, throughout their lives with whatever problems they may have.
Keeping mentally and physically fit is an important part of the mix because we recognise leading a healthy lifestyle has huge benefits for all of us.
And because the Charity relies on money from our civil service community to develop and deliver our support services – we’ve combined walking with fundraising in an ingenious challenge designed to increase your fitness and wellbeing and raise much needed funds at the same time. The Walking Challenge was launched in 2012 and to date 8000 civil servants from right across the UK have taken part – often in teams but also as individual walkers set on just increasing their daily exercise.
Since then a total of £132,000 has been raised to help former and current civil servants in need and in 2016 staff from 51 Government Departments and Agencies took part – the biggest number yet.
The Charity for Civil Servants is grateful to The Civil Service Insurance Society for sponsoring The Walking Challenge.
